OUGD603: Extended Practice - Semester one, Briefs 8, 1, 2 and 4

As part of the OUGD603: Extended practice module we are required to undertake a minimum of eight of our own written briefs as well as a series of live briefs set by visiting professionals, competition brief and at least one collaborative brief.

Therefore in order to plan my time most effectively I decided to begin work on four of my studio briefs this semester and four in the next, taking into consideration the CoP module which is due in and the end of this semester and the live briefs which will be set throughout the coming months.

I began by choosing brief which different timescales in order to begin work on several briefs at once rather than just focussing on one at a time, I personally felt this will be the most effective way of managing my time.

As the CoP module deadline is at the end of this semester I chose the subsequent practical aspect of of it which I have decided to submit for 603 as well (Brief 8), I will also work on the interactive mail shot brief (Brief 4) which will ideally be used in collaboration with the PPP module in order to secure a placement for later this year. The other two briefs I chose were one large scale brief (Brief 1 - Subliminal messaging exhibition) with an estimated time scale of 6-8 weeks and a small one week brief, Cockney Rhyming slang prints (Brief 2).

Once I had chosen the briefs I would like to start work on I made a list for each one of what tasks I needed to undertake for the initial stages such as researching and concept generation etc.
