Evaluation
Overall I am extremely pleased with how my book has turned out, the finish of the hardbound cover and glossy pages conveyed the high end exhibition book I aimed to produce.
My main of the brief was to use it as a opportunity to be experimental with the layout in order to create something which would be interactive, giving an impression of what the actual exhibition would be like which I believe I have achieved. During the course of the brief I was also able to experiment with both traditional techniques as well as digital, using the photocopier to create really unique manipulated type. not only did I immensely enjoy this process but I also believe it creates a interesting aesthetic which runs throughout the book.
Unfortunately due to lack of accurate time management and various other live briefs we were given that I did not account for I was unable to finish the two books I planned to produce; one exhibition book for grownups and one activity book for children in time for the interim submission. I plan to complete the brief fully by the end of the semester.
If I was to redo the brief I would perhaps include more content to the book in order to create a really substantial exhibition book. I also feel like I could refine some of the layouts as toward the end of the book they were rushed and could be more in keeping with the rest of the book
