OUGD603: Extended Practice - D.S.M Studio Brief: 'Ministry of Wonderful' Evaluation
Evaluation
Over the past year or so on the course I have discovered my interests in Graphic Design lie specifically in Branding and Identity therefore I found the D.S.M brief a welcome break from our workload a exciting brief to work on.
During the brief I believe I was productive with my time, I was able to create a strong identity, branding guidelines and collateral appropriate to my 'big idea'. I am also pleased with how I applied the brand, I put a lot of consideration in to what would be appropriate to my 'big idea' which was to create a home from home for residents at a retirement home by letting them personalise there own space with their families. Therefore I branded a toolbox which they would be given when they moved in.
The knowledge passed onto us by D.S.M was invaluable, and definitely informed my knowledge on how to create a successful brand and how to apply the principles of the brand, what it stand for to all aspects of what I produce. Getting feedback from professionals in the industry gave an interesting perspective on my work too.
If I was to refine the brief I would possibly improve the quality of the mock-ups I produced in order to give a more realistic representation of how the branding would work.
